Dr. Nyima Sherpa holds a PhD in Buddhist Philosophy from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi, India. Fluent in Tibetan, English, Nepali, Hindi, Pali, Sanskrit, and Urdu, Nyima brings a wealth of experience in teaching Buddhist philosophy and literature. He has served as a translator and educator at esteemed institutions such as Sakya Institute and Azong Monastery in Nepal. As an advisor to Virgin Nepal Trek & Expedition, Nyima’s deep knowledge of Tibetan culture, philosophy, and languages enhances the company’s commitment to offering culturally rich and immersive trekking experiences. His academic background and expertise in Buddhist traditions provide invaluable insights for guiding travelers on both spiritual and adventure-based journeys in Nepal. Nyima is currently a professor at Lumbini Buddhist University, where he continues to engage in teaching and research.
